Luancheng District is located in the southeast of Shijiazhuang City, 320 kilometers north of the capital Beijing and 30 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport. Beijing-Guangzhou Railway and National Highway 107 run through the west of the region, Beijing-Shenzhen Expressway, 308 National Highway and Qingyin Expressway run through the north and south, Hengjing Highway crosses the east-west in the middle of the region, and the third Ring Road of Shijiazhuang runs through the north of the region. As of 2013, Luancheng District has jurisdiction over 5 towns, 3 townships, 1 street and 182 administrative villages, with a population of 328933, covering an area of 347square kilometers. In 2013, the GDP of Luancheng District reached 17.5 billion yuan, an increase of 9.5% over the same period in 2012. In September 2014, the State Council agreed with Hebei Province to adjust some administrative divisions of Shijiazhuang City, and agreed to abolish Luancheng County at the county level and establish Shijiazhuang.
